About the Teacher:

Hi, I’m Meghan Oliver. I teach a combined classroom of grades one and two at Thetford Elementary School, a school that is dear to my heart. I value TES’ whole-child approach to education, and our focus on social-emotional well-being, outdoor education, and inclusivity.

I live in the Upper Valley with my son and our cat. I am passionate about wild birds, wildflowers, and racial equity. I attended the University of Connecticut, graduating with a degree in English. After college I worked primarily in newspaper journalism, both writing and editing. Most recently, I was an editor at Northern Woodlands magazine. My career path also includes working at and managing the Vermont Institute of Natural Science’s wild avian rehabilitation program, where I gave medical care to injured and orphaned wild birds. In 2016 I returned to school to earn my teaching certificate from the Upper Valley Educators Institute. I began working at TES in 2017.
