Colin McLaughlin, Interim Principal
Dear Thetford Elementary Families,
It's hard to believe it's that time already! Summer is fading rapidly and the new school year is just around the corner. I hope you and your loved ones had a chance to relax, explore, and recharge your batteries however you choose. The school is slowly coming back to life with the teachers appearing to set up classrooms, the custodians busily preparing, the office staff filing papers and stuffing envelopes, and the kitchen staff setting up to feed lots of children. The only thing missing is the kids.
I am looking forward to this year school year in a different way than ever before. Instead of gearing myself up for another year in the classroom, I am working hard to support all the pieces that make our school come alive and thrive. Our children depend on this foundation and the support and love you provide at home to be successful students. It really does take a village to make this all work!
Our first day of school is August 29thand we invite families to join us for a coffee hour from 8:00-9:00am in our lobby. Afterwards, all are welcome to stay for a brief welcome back assembly in the gymnasium. Don't panic too much. There is still enough time to get in one last camping trip, set up a lemonade stand, get some swimming in, and enjoy the beauty of late summer in Vermont! I can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces back at school and am looking forward to working with all of you this year. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions before school starts. See you soon!
